To mark the 150th birthday of the famous Ballets Russes stage-designer, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco presents Designing Dreams, A Celebration of Leon Bakst, an exhibition running from October 23, 2016 to January 15, 2017 at the Villa Sauber. Leon Bakst (b. 1866 in Grodno, present day Belarus–d. 1924 in Paris) is primarily celebrated for the sets and costumes he designed for the Ballets Russes company

HOME Manchester announces the major new exhibition of all new work by Rachel Maclean. Curated by Bren O’Callaghan and Sarah Perks, Wot u :-) about? plays out across film, sculpture and print, in the Scottish artist’s largest solo exhibition to date.

Zilberman Gallery-Berlin announces the opening of the exhibition The Red Gaze. It presents a constellation of objects in four chapters—paintings, drawings, poems, sculptures, videos, soundtracks, performances, discussions—on the theme of "the witness," more specifically, the "artist as eye-witness" in times of duress and war. It will be accompanied by a catalog.

Infinity Poison, a solo exhibition by Derek Mainella,is the inaugural show of Castor Projects, a new fine art space in New Cross. It also marks Mainella’s first solo exhibition in London, where he currently resides, and his second solo show in the UK. The exhibition forms a gesamtkunstwerk, in which Mainella’s usual painting practice takes a more passive role as co-spectator in an environment that addresses issues of consumption, food production and waste through superficial mimesis.

Edouard Malingue Gallery presents Panoramix, the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong of the Indonesian collective Tromarama. Established in 2006 in Bandung, Indonesia, and comprised of artists Febie Babyrose, Ruddy Hatumena and Herbert Hans, Tromarama have been developing inventive responses to contemporary urban culture spanning multiple media. 

Selected Works: Raha Raissnia is an exhibition of Raissnia's dense explorations of light which manifest as works on paper, paintings and film installations. Described as a "night-painter," one that Milton Cruz situates as having a habit of "starting from the other side of things," Raissnia's works emerge from stillness, silence and darkness whilst operating at the fleeting moment of being half-awake, as light flutters between the hallucinatory state that is difficult to wrap around consciousness

PLATEAU, Samsung Museum of Art presents The Promise of If, a solo exhibition by Minouk Lim. Since making a breakthrough onto the Korean contemporary art scene with her collective practice in the late 1990s, Lim has formed a singular artistic vision that encompasses a broad range of works including installation, video, and performance in addition to numerous publication and educational projects.

MASP announces the return of Lina Bo Bardi's radical glass easels to the display of the collection beginning December 10, 2015. Picture Gallery in Transformation presents a selection of 119 artworks drawn from the museum's diverse holdings, spanning from 4 BC to 2008. The easels were first presented at the opening of the museum's current venue on Avenida Paulista in 1968, and were withdrawn in 1996.

The first major US museum exhibition featuring German artist Jochen Lempert's photographs will be on view at the Cincinnati Art Museum from October 17, 2015–March 6, 2016. The show will include more than 100 hand-printed black-and-white photographs spanning 15 years. Trained as a biologist, Lempert began making artistic photographs of animals, plants, and natural phenomena during the early 1990s in Hamburg, and the results are anything but traditional nature photography. 

As part of a growing initiative to increase holdings by artists from Texas or currently based in the state, the Blanton Museum of Art presents a special installation of newly acquired works by San Antonio native Donald Moffett. With eight works by the artist in its collection, the Blanton holds more works by Moffett than any other museum in the United States. This presentation aims to showcase the artist's diverse and influential practice through a rich variety of media including painting, projected video on canvas, and photographs.
