5kh is the frequency of trauma. The tone of the remnants our strange and painful interactions with each other leave behind, the sound of broken connections effectively masked by the myriad ways we avoid engagement with reality, the noise of hundreds of little wrongs, the combined volume of which deafen us nonetheless. The debut collection from Adrian B. Earle plays with the language of formality, the magic of the mundane, the events & characters hidden in the mass of a crowd or behind the glare of a computer screen. These poems know we are often far from our best, that we hurt each other, often carelessly, sometimes callously, but by accepting our flaws and incongruities we can be better.
